I have always been interested in fitness and health and have worked out in several different gyms with several different trainers over the past 5 years. I loved all of it and was surprised when I walked into Pacific Coast Boxing and saw the simplicity of the gym. Little did I know that I was about to have the BEST workout of my life. Boxing is one of the best things you can do for your mind, body, and spirit and Ruth (the owner and trainer) makes it totally accessible to everyone. She is supportive, patient, and never lets you off the hook! I'm sweating within the first 10 minutes of my workout and never leave the gym without feeling that I've accomplished something. I have lost weight, increased speed and strength, and overall I just feel a lot better about myself my outlook on life.
I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a serious workout in a fun and supporting environment. It's addictive and I'm hooked! (no pun intended)

I work right next to the Tin Cannery so I noticed right away when Pacific Coast Boxing signs went up on the building. I had been working out at home (yeah P90X!) but was getting board with my normal routine and was looking for something new. I stopped in to check it out and was really impressed. The gym is clean, uncluttered and an open feeling. Definitely different than your usual run of the mill gym (I have been a 24 hour fitness member for the past 5 years and i often felt like the free weight room was a "meat market," something I have never felt at Pacific Coast Boxing). Ruth, the owner, greeted me and explained how things work. She is 100% there for women who want a place to work out, challenge themselves and try new things. I signed up for a one-on-one session with Ruth for the next day. She worked with me, showing me the basics of a boxing routine and workout. I immediately felt at home with her supportive attitude and expertise. Plus, 20 minutes into it I was sweating like crazy! I have been a member of the gym since; boxing an average of 3 days a week. Since starting, I have lost 10 pounds and feel like I'm in great shape (not to mention much better off with a good stress release). I have found that Ruth has consistently been supportive of me continuously learning and improving my skills. I would recommend this gym and workout to anyone! Come on in and check it out!
As a daughter of a fitness instructor, I had only known the typical things most women do to keep fit. Although my mother's aerobic classes were fun at times, I would mostly go for the exercise. I always felt out of place. Finding Pacific Coast Boxing was truly life changing. It gave me a whole different perspective on fitness. Ruth gave me a routine that was right for me so I was able to achieve my goals. Now I have set new fitness goals for myself. This Gym has allowed me to become a more stronger and confident person.

I have spent the last 5 years working with personal trainers along with cycling, running, and aerobics. For us boxing has been a great experience since we first walked in the door. When we come to train here, we know that one day we will be in that ring, so we don’t stop till that bell rings. Coach Ruth has dedicated her time with one-on-one training/coaching. Training here at Pacific Coast Boxing has made us physically fit, but it’s from the dedication and the motivation that is given here at Pacific Coast Boxing. There is no greater feeling then having confidence in yourself. When we step outside the gym, we know that we worked hard, and it gives us confidence that we can take on any obstacle that life throws at us. As full time students, we use the same mentality as we would in the ring to be consistent and persistent in are academic studies. Make sure you bring an extra shirt.
